Education Improves Statistics

In 2007, there were 248,300 victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault; about 1 every 2 minutes. (These figures do not include victims 12 years old or younger.)

Sexual assault has fallen by more than 60% in recent years. Had the 1993 rate held steady, 6.8 million Americans would have been assaulted in the last 13 years. Thanks to the decline, the actual number of victims was about 4.2 million.

It is my firm opinion that by educating women, and helping them understand how to improve their awareness, we have empowered them, reducing their likeliness of being an easy target. Increase your awareness, walk with confidence and don't be an easy target.
